Ginger – a healthy and spicy delicacy

When it’s chilly and wet outside, many people suffer from unpleasant coughs and colds. However, there is a secret weapon to quickly get on your feet again: ginger.

The ginger plant (zingiber officinale) grows in hot and humid climate and can reach a height of up to 5 feet. It is cultivated in countries such as China, Vietnam, Bengal, Malabar, Japan, Australia, West Africa, and Jamaica.

ONE ROOT, MANY APPLICATIONS
The ginger root tastes delicious with its fresh and spicy flavour. It also offers many health benefits. Since more than 2,000 years, it has been used as a domestic remedy for the treatment of pain, digestive and stomach upsets, nausea as well as circulatory problems.

TASTY AND VERSATILE
As a food ingredient, ginger has become increasingly popular during the last few years. Globally, it is among the top 10 botanicals in new products of the food industries. Ginger can be used in sports & energy drinks, carbonated soft drinks, juice drinks, flavoured water, ready-to-drink beverages, as well as herbal, fruit, and tea blends. It also adds flavour to specialty beverages like Chai tea, craft beer or ginger beer. And ginger can literally spice up your food and beverages. It is the perfect addition to any balanced diet. Sauces, snacks, cookies, and confectionery all benefit from the fine and multi-faceted flavour of ginger.

OUR PORTFOLIO
Our portfolio includes ginger for teas and infusions in various cut sizes and single-serve applications, liquid and dry extracts for food and beverages, and extracts for phytopharmaceuticals and dietary supplements.
