A gold medal from EcoVadis

Vestenbergsgreuth, September 30, 2021 – The German branch of the Martin Bauer Group has been awarded a Gold medal for its sustainable business practices. Global business sustainability assessor EcoVadis ranks Martin Bauer GmbH & Co. KG among the top five percent in its industry worldwide.

The award of the Gold medal shows that the botanicals company is taking an effective and consistent approach to implementing sustainable practices in its core business. The medal was awarded following an assessment of the company’s performance in four sustainability themes – Environment, Ethics, Labor & Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement. The German branch of the Martin Bauer Group gained an overall score of 66 percent, making it one of the most active and responsible companies of its size in its industry.

The sustainability assessment conducted by EcoVadis is renowned across the globe. It provides detailed insight into ecological, social and ethical risks within 200 different procurement categories in 160 countries. More than 75,000 companies, including many industry leaders, use the EcoVadis method to assess and continually improve their sustainability performance within their global supply chains. The EcoVadis method incorporates international CSR standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and ISO 26000.

“The Gold medal from EcoVadis makes us proud and encourages us to continue along the sustainability path we are taking,” says Sebastian Sieben, the CEO of Martin Bauer Group Europe. “The most important part of this approach is the process of continually improving.”
